At Deansgate Dental Studio, our aim is to provide our patients with 360-degree care that puts them at the centre of their treatment and treatment journey. This holistic attitude allows us to provide preventive dentistry that can help maintain our patients’ long-term health well into the future, while also helping to emphasise and enhance their smile through cosmetic treatments so that they can achieve their smile ambitions. We also practice biomimetic dentistry, which aims to always preserve, where possible, and mimic the natural properties of the teeth when carrying out restorations.
Preventive dentistry is the regular care we provide to our patients to maintain their overall oral health. This includes annual or bi-annual dental examinations and dental hygiene appointments, and is supported by the patient’s own at-home care routine. The aim of preventive dentistry is to prevent issues such as decay, caries, infection, and gum disease from occurring, which in turn will prevent the need for restorative treatments such as fillings, crowns, root canal treatments and more.
Biomimetic dentistry is about preserving the integrity of the tooth. This is achieved through the preservation of the natural tooth structure wherever possible, and mimicking the natural tooth whenever restorations are necessary. Some of the key concepts of biomimetic dentistry include preserving intact tooth structure, restoring structural integrity, maximising adhesion, using biomimetic restorative materials, and replicating the natural biomechanics of the tooth.
We’ll be able to help tailor an at-home care routine that works for you, but we always recommend brushing the teeth for two minutes twice a day, using a fluoride toothpaste, flossing regularly or using an interdental toothbrush, and changing your toothbrush or toothbrush head every three months.
