Our smile can darken and discolour as we age – sometimes this is caused by simple genetics, and sometimes it’s exacerbated by food, drink, and lifestyle choices such as your morning coffee, evening red wine, or multicoloured sports drink. But with dentist-approved teeth whitening treatments available, there’s no need to sit around feeling self-conscious about your smile.
Teeth whitening treatments use a whitening agent such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide to penetrate the enamel of the teeth and breakdown discoloured molecules. This leaves the teeth looking whiter and brighter.
We work with Boutique Whitening, which means our team will be able to oversee your treatment while you get to whiten your teeth from the comfort of your own home. You’ll be measured and fitted for your bespoke-made whitening trays here at the practice, and once ready, you’ll wear them at home for up to two weeks.
We’re also able to offer a premium product – Enlighten Smiles which guarantees a Vita B1 shade in 98% of cases. This treatment involves a bespoke routine at home and in the clinic to achieve the highest possible results.
While some patients might experience some sensitivity, there’s no reason for teeth whitening to cause any pain. Your trays will be made especially for you, which means they should be as comfortable as possible, and the whitening gels are formulated with de-sensitisers.
You’ll wear your whitening trays and gel either for 1-2 hours a day every day for two weeks, or overnight for two weeks. Boutique Whitening has a day and a night formula available, so you get to choose which works for you and your lifestyle.
The exact shade of your teeth after teeth whitening can vary widely, but patients are always super happy with the results, and you’ll be able to top-up your smile simply and easily.
