What are veneers?

Veneers are applied directly to the natural teeth, creating a more even and smooth appearance that is both natural-looking and smile-enhancing.

What are veneers made of?

Veneers are most commonly made of either porcelain or composite resin. They are applied in different ways, but both offer a natural-looking finish as well as durability.

What kind of aesthetic issues can veneers address?

Some of the most common issues that veneers are used to address include:

• Cracks in the teeth
• Small gaps
• Chips
• Uneven teeth
• General wear and tear
• Small teeth
• Discolouration
• Minimal misalignment issues

What is the treatment process like?

Receiving veneers usually happens over the course of 2-3 appointments. After your consultation, you’ll then come back into the practice so we can design your new smile for you. We’ll take measurements and digital images that will be used to design and build your veneers.

If you’ve chosen porcelain veneers, these are then made off-site in a dental laboratory and will be applied here at the practice. The placement of porcelain veneers requires the removal of a small layer of enamel, to better help the veneers adhere to the natural teeth. In some cases, veneers can be made on the same day, in-practice, with our Cerec PrimeMill machine.

How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers usually last 7-10 years at which point they will need to be replaced.
